My first SLR camera was a Nikon - I have forgotten which type. Later on I bought a used Canon AE1. I had great fun with both of them.
My first digital camera was an Olympus - bought in 2003. When Canon 350 came I bougth my first DSLR.
A few - not many cameras later I now have a Canon EOS R with some lenses. Most of the lenses are bought used.
I find I am less and less interested in carrying a lot of equipment. At the most I had with med 11 kilos, including tripod and the weight of the backpack itself.
In addition to the R I recently bought a used 200D and a used EF-S 24mm pancake. Toghether with a 40mm pancake I already had I think I have a compact setup.
So now - I either have with me the 200D and the two panckake lenses or I have the R and one or two lenses.
I usually drop the tripod - it is heavy as hell. I have a Gorillapod which I sometimes bring instead.
